Armed guards in schools? NJ lawmakers talk security after Parkland

April 7, 2018 | News & Updates

Dear School Social Work Friends:

We social workers have another opportunity to testify before NJ Legislators on gun violence and school safety issues. It is critically important that social workers’ voices are heard in this discussion. Legislators have specifically asked to hear from school social workers.

Lawmakers are scheduled to host another hearing on school security beginning 3 p.m. Monday, April 9 in the William G. Rohrer Center at Camden County College.

The third and final hearing is set for 3 p.m. on April 23 at the Paul Robeson Campus Center, part of Rutgers University-Newark.

Both events will be open for public comment.

If you are able to attend one of these events and would like to speak, please let me know. We will give the legislative committee aides a heads up that you will be there. Please also share this information within your network of School Social Workers.
