During the month of March each year, we recognize and validate school social workers as valued members of school staff. Whether the role is focused on Child Study Team, Whole School Reform, Transition, or Preschool, we provide supportive services to students, school staff, families and the community.
As we recognize all that we contribute to our schools, we ask that you consider asking your director to nominate an outstanding candidate for the honor of School Social Worker of the Year 2020. This nomination is crucial in helping us honor a worthy School Social Worker. The nomination process begins simply by contacting our School Social Worker of the Year chairperson:

Nominations must meet the following requirements:
Nominee must be a member in good standing of NJASSW, and must be able to attend the NJASSW Spring Institute on March23, 2020 to receive their acknowledgement and validation.
Nominee must submit a resume of his/her experience and accomplishments with evidence of professional affiliation, community involvement, and social action interests.
The nomination shall include supporting documentations, such as a narrative describing the character and worthiness of the nominee and letters of support from colleagues and parents.
All nominations must be sent to the Chairperson by March 2, 2020
The recipient will be announced at the Annual Spring Institute on March 23, 2020. We would welcome your attendance at this conference as well, to be part of this prestigious validation.
